Curtis Phill Hsu wins First Prize at the Maria Canals Competition

Curtis Phill Hsu is the 2025 winner of the Maria Canals intl. Piano Competition in Barcelona. The jury unanimously awarded this prize, which includes performing opportunities with major Spanish orchestras all around the country. He was followed by Nejc Kamplet, who won Second Prize for his rendition of Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1, and Pin-Hong Lin, who finished third, playing Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 2.

Curtis Phill Hsu took up the piano at age 4. After studying at the Leopold Mozart Institute he is now a pupil of Prof. Arie Vardi at Hanover University of Music. Among others, Curtis is also the winner of the 2024 Hastings International Piano Competition.
