Record numbers at the Munich ARD Competition

The Paris Olympics have recently ended, while Munich has just witnessed the conclusion of the 73rd ARD International Music Competition, the “Olympic Games of Music” (according to Sir Simon Rattle). The young musicians came to Munich from all over the world: from Honduras, Namibia, Kazakhstan and Iceland, for instance. There were 726 applications this year, a new record in the history of the competition.
