Great musicmaking at the Schubert Competition

Three remarkable pianists captivated the audience in Dortmund

Beethoven 3 and 4; Mozart Concerto n°22. What an enjoyable evening! The three finalists captivated their audience with beautiful performances, accompanied by the Dortmunder Philharmoniker under the baton of Motonori Kobayashi. 

The Jury decided finally to award Maximilian Kromer (Vienna) the first Prize, while Geunpyo Park (Detmold) was chosen for the second Prize . She also received the audience award. Fanyu Zeng  is the third Prize winner.

The XV Piano Competition 2025 ended with the winners’ matinee in the Hansa coking plant’s salt warehouse, ending a truly outstanding competition with music by Franz Schubert, great participants and a fantastic final concert in this unique setting that can only be found in Dortmund.
