Youl Sun

He gained attention on the European stage in April 2023, when he won second place and the Audience Award at the Viseu International Piano Competition in Portugal. In November 2023, he won third place at the 2023 ISANGYUN International Music Competition. He has distinguished himself early on by winning major competitions in Korea, including the Nanpa Music Competition, the Seongjeong Music Competition, the Ewha Gyeonghyang Competition, the Kookmin Ilbo-Han Generation Competition, and the Korea Chopin Competition, winning the Shinhan Music Prize-Piano Division, first place and the Polonaise Prize at the Asia-Pacific International Chopin Competition (Junior Division), and second place and the Schubert Special Prize at the United States E-Piano Youth International Competition.

After graduating from Yewon School, pianist Youl Sun attended Seoul National University of the Arts and graduated from Seoul National University of the Arts. He has been studying music in France since 2022 and graduated from the Paris Schola Cantorum in 2023 and is currently enrolled at the Paris Conservatoire École Normale Supérieure. He has studied with Professors Yoojin Yoon, Daejin Kim, and Olivier Gardon and is currently receiving artistic support from the Hyundai Motor Company Chung Mong-Koo Foundation.
