The horn player Karsten Hoffmann studies with Prof. Paul van Zelm at the Musikhochschule Köln. As a five-time first prize winner in the German national competition "Jugend musiziert", he has received several special prizes from the German Foundation for Musical Life for outstanding achievements. Karsten Hoffmann was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Youth Orchestra and the Federal Youth Orchestra for many years. Hoffmann has been principal horn of the Wuppertal Symphony Orchestra since August 2019. Since 2021 he has also been a Villa Musica scholarship holder and a scholarship holder of the German Music Competition.
