Trondheim ends with a Schubert grand Final

 

Rilian Trio wins 12th Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition

The final rounds of the 12th TICC competition was held Saturday 30 September in the Free Mason Hall.  Rilian Trio of Toronto won the competition with festival engagements and 15000€. 

At the Final, the trios performed music by Schubert and competed for cash prizes worth more than NOK 300,000. In addition, concert engagements were awarded and the winners were given a print by the artist Håvard Homstvedt.

The commission prize is given for the best interpretation of the first performance the commissioned piece Shining Through, which went down very well with the musicians, jury and not least the audience! The piece was written by composer Ellen Lindquist, who was present at all five performances.

The jury had a tough task, there was a consistently high level of performance.

Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition & Academy focus especially on advanced student ensembles and young professional ensembles, and is open for chamber ensembles from all over the world. The competition is arranged every second year, alternately for string quartets and piano trios. It is open for chamber ensembles from all over the world. 
The competition is arranged as a part of Trondheim Chamber Music Festival to be an inspiration for young chamber music ensembles. With attractive prizes; both cash and concert engagements, our goal is the competition will be a springboard to the ensembles careers. Sending an application is free of charge. All rounds of the competition are held in the Free Mason Hall: a beautiful hall with perfectly suited acoustics for chamber music.
