The WFIMC starts its 2024 General Assembly tomorrow, beginning with a two-day Marketing forum

The annual General Assembly of the World Federation of international Music Competitions is about to start in Parma, Italy!
Prior to the General Assembly, the WFIMC is hosting a Marketing Forum, which is open to the public. Held at the Toscanini Foundation in Parma, this informative conference will prove invaluable to those working in marketing, especially in the competition and festival sectors. Sessions will cover online advertising and SEO, new classical music platforms, audience building, AI updates, sustainability, calls for application, social media, webcasts and more.

Later in the week, the GA will feature a focus on Conducting Competitions- thanks to its host, the Arturo Toscanini international Conducting competition- with a round table on conducting competitions. Directors of the Mahler Competition (Bamberg), the Toscanini, Tokyo, Besancon and Rotterdam Competitions will be discussing recent developments and current issues. Special guest at the General Assembly will be conductor Marin Alsop, who will engage in a stage talk with WFIMC Secretary General Florian Riem.

Other conference sessions will host panelists Maximilian Merkle (Berlin Phil Media), Alison Karlson (Bachtrack), Rob Overman (Symphony.live), Geoffrey John Davies (the Violin Channel), Beat Fehlmann (Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz), Tisa Ho (Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo), Luis Perandones (muvac), Toni J.
