South Korea: ISANGYUN Competition is back in the game

First international Competition in Korea taking place live again

The beautiful hall and the spectacular surroundings always make for a very attractive backdrop of the annual ISANGYUN Competition, held this year with a one-year delay in the discipline of violin. Quarantine regulations had just been loosened in Korea, so all foreign competitors and the entire foreign jury could enter the country with a quarantine exemption approved by the ministry of culture. But in the past year, travel to Korea has been complicated and tiresome, with two-week mandatory isolation in a government facility, which may have been the reason for some overseas applicants staying away, despite the competition covering travel expenses for everyone excepted to the first round.
