Philipp Lynov wins at Xiamen

China´s great Piano Competiton shines with outstanding performances

Well known to European audiences, pianist Philipp Lynov (25, born in Moscow and living in Cologne, Germany) has won First Prize of the 2024 Xiamen international Piano Competition in China. 18-year old Zhexiang Li from Beijing followed with the Second Prize, while Berlin-based Ron Maxim Huang (23) won Third.

Born in 1999, Philipp Lynov´s journey with the piano commenced at the tender age of six. In 2017, he graduated with honors from the Central Music School at Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Continuing his pursuit of musical excellence, Philipp enrolled at Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory under the mentorship of Professor Eliso Virsaladze. His thirst for knowledge led him to Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, Germany, where he is currently pursuing a master’s degree under the guidance of Professor Claudio Martinez Mehner and Professor Nina Tichman. Philipp has honed his craft through masterclasses with esteemed pianists such as Dmitry Alexeev, Hyoung-Joon Chang, and Mikhail Voskresensky. Garnering acclaim on the international stage, he has secured numerous awards, including First Prizes at esteemed competitions like the Takamatsu International Piano Competition in Japan and the Paderewski International Piano Competition in Poland. His performances have graced leading concert halls across the globe, from Russia and Germany to Spain, Italy, and Japan. As a soloist, Philipp has collaborated with renowned orchestras and conductors, leaving an indelible mark on the classical music scene.

The 2024 Xiamen international piano competition 2024 (XIPC) carries on the musical heritage of China International Piano Competition. Xiamen International Piano Competition 2024 is under the auspices of Central Conservatory of Music (CCOM) and the municipal government of the city of Xiamen.
