Sergey  Simakov

Sergey Simakov is a russian-born german conductor. 2015 he was awarded the 1st prize at the Conducting Competition Jeunesses Musicales Bucharest; 2017 was among three Semi-Finalists of the Cadaques Conducting Competition. He worked as an Assistant Conductor at the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie; at the Staatsorchester Rheinische Philharmonie Koblenz (2012/13). 2016 Sergey was Music Director at the „Oper Oder-Spree“ festival; 2018/19 he was guest conductor at the State Opera House Cottbus. Sergey is artistic director of Giraud Ensemble Chamber Orchestra Zürich. Giraud Ensemble released recording of Schoenberg’s “Pierrot Lunaire”for ZHdK-Records, CD recording with works by Gulda, Poulenc and Prokofiev for SONY. 2022 Sergey conducted the production of Rigoletto at the Theater Ulm. He has appeared with orchestras including the Stuttgarter Philharmoniker, Iceland Symphony Orchestra, Nord Netherlands Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre Philarmonique de Strasbourg, Konzerthausorchester Berlin.
