Mira Alkhovik

Mira Alkhovik was born in Saint-Petersburg and played violin for 12 years before she began her studies in vocal performance at St. Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory. In her fifth year of studies she spent one semester at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (Prof. Elena Pankratova). Shortly afterwards, she began studying specialised opera performance at the Bern Academy of the Arts (Professor Malin Hartelius), where she graduated in 2024 as Master of Arts with honours.

During her studies she was a scholarship recipient of foundations such as Vontobel-Stiftung, Rahn Kulturfonds, Stiftung Lyra. She became also one of three winners of the prestigious Eva Kleinitz Scholarship from the professional association of opera companies and festivals in Europe "Opera Europa" in 2024.

Mira is a prize winner of numerous vocal competitions. In 2021 she received Grand Prix of the 8th International George Enesco Competition in 2021 (Paris). In 2022 she won two second prizes: of the International Student LiedDuo Competition in Groningen (NL) and the 4th International Haydn Competition (Austria, Rohrau).

In 2022 Mira was named finalist of the second season of the ARIA TV competition (Netherlands). In 2023 she won 4th prize and Best Chinese Art Song special prize of the prestigious Ningbo International Vocal Competition(China).

In 2024 Mira won the II Prize and Oratorio-Lied Prize of the 61st Tenor Viñas Contest in Barcelona and the III Prize and Best Contemporary Art Song prize of the ARD International Music Competition in Munich.
