Jasmin White trained at the University of Southern California, the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, and the Juilliard School, where they impressed in Prokofiev’s Alexander Nevsky, Stravinsky’s Pulcinella, Rossi’s Orfeo, Handel’s Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno, and Nicolai’s The Merry Wives of Windsor. The contralto made their debut at the Metropolitan Opera as a soloist and member of the chorus in the return of Porgy and Bess in 2019, a production which won a Grammy Award. They recently joined the Opernstudio of the Vienna Volksoper, where this season sees them sing in productions of The Magic Flute, Orpheus in the Underworld and The Flying Dutchman. Jasmin White has also performed as a soloist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Juilliard 415 Ensemble and has collaborated with conductors such as Yannick Nézet-Séguin, William Christie, David Robertson, and Lidiya Yankovskaya.
She won some prizes including:
