Chinese young generation pianist, is the first prize winner of the Cleveland International Piano Competition in 2024, and the third Place winner of the 76th Geneva International Music Competition (Piano) and recipient of the Rose-Marie Huguenin Special Prize.

As a soloist, James (Zijian) Wei has achieved remarkable results at major competitions both domestically and internationally, including the Huanglong Music Season Piano Competition, where he received the top prize in the professional group, the Jianfa Gulangyu International Competition, where he secured the First Prize, the China Grand Canal International Piano Art Festival, and the Lang Lang Cup Piano Competition, where he earned the Second Prize. He has also won the First Prize in the professional group of the Changjiang Cup National University Piano Competition, the Best Chinese Work Award at the Beijing International Chopin Piano Competition, and the Best Performance Award in the Yanhuang Cup Composition Competition (2018-2019) at the Central Conservatory of Music. He has represented Chinese pianists at prestigious international competitions such as the Chopin International Piano Competition and the Marguerite Long International Piano Competition.
