He studied singing in the class of Prof. KS Jochen Kupfer at the University of Music in Würzburg. There he regularly performed in recitals with Prof. Gerold Huber and Alexander Fleischer as well as in opera productions at the opera school under the direction of Prof. Katharina Thoma. There he sang the Speaker in The Magic Flute, the title role in G. P. Telemann's Orpheus, the role of Junius in B. Britten's The Rape of Lucretia and Figaro in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro.
In summer 2021, he was a guest at Oper Frankfurt for the world premiere of L. Ronchetti's Inferno and sang the role of Rudi in S. Wagner's Friedensengel in Bayreuth in a production of the PPP Music Theater. In the summer of 2023, he was heard again at the Frankfurt Opera. This time as Escamillo in the opera for children to G. Bizet's Carmen.
Jakob Ewert is a regular singer in the ensemble LauschWerk, with whom he was able to participate in the Bavarian State Opera Munich's production of G.F. Handel's Semele in summer 2023.
He won the Lions Music Competition 2022 in Nuremberg, was a finalist in the Federal Singing Competition 2022 in Berlin, first prize at the Seraphin Competition in Würzburg and has already received a German scholarship. In summer 2023, he attended several performances at the Bayreuth Festival as a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Verband Würzburg.
Jakob Ewert will be a member of the Chemnitz Opera ensemble from the 2023/24 season
