Gabriel Yeo started playing the piano when he was three years old. 
He took his first piano lessons with Annette Strootmann (Münster) and then studied with piano teacher Prof. Karl-Heinz Kämmerling (Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media) from 2008 until his death in 2012. He studied under Vassilia Efstathiadou, Prof. Matti Raekallio and Prof. Jan Jiracek von Arnim in Hanover (HMTMH) and Vienna (University of Music and Performing Arts) from 2012 to 2016 and has been studying with Prof. Bernd Goetzke in Hanover since October 2016.

As part of his chamber music studies, he receives valuable lessons from Prof. Boris. Kusnezow and Prof. Jacques Ammon in Leipzig.

Following numerous successes at junior-level competitions such as Jugend musiziert, where Yeo achieved the maximum number of points possible at the national level several times, he won the GWK Music Prize in March 2015 as one of the youngest participants. Shortly afterwards, he won second place at the »VIII International Youth Music Award« (first place was not been awarded).

He is a prize winner of international piano competitions like „Concours International André Dumortier“, „International Theodor Leschetizky Competition“ and „Concurso Internacional Santa Cecília" 2022.
He also won second prize at the „TONALi19“-competition, taking place in the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg.
Gabriel is the first prize winner of the 2018 International Grotrian Piano Competition and won a Golden Medal at the „5th Manhattan International Music Competition“.
