Constantin Borodin

Born in Chișinău, Republic of Moldova, Constantin Borodin started to play cello at the age of 6, under the guidance of V. Komissarova and B. Savici in his hometown. After highschool graduation, Constantin moved to Bucharest and started his studies with Prof. Marin Cazacu. He actively participated in masterclasses held by renowned teachers and musicians such as: Gautier Capuçon, Valentin Răduțiu, Cătălin Ilea, Reinhard Latzko, Stefan Popov, Miklós Perényi. In October 2019 he was selected as an active participant at The Cello Akademie Rutesheim, to work with Prof. Sebastian Klinger. He also attended chamber music masterclasses: SoNoRo, ISA Vienna and ECMA.
Together with the pianist Daria Tudor, he performed recitals in Bucharest, Rutesheim, Strasbourg and Berlin; they were invited to play at rbbKultur Radio in Berlin and also won the 1st prize and the special prize of the French Embassy in Bucharest at the Mihail Jora Competition, held in Bucharest. Constantin Borodin is a winner of several national (Mihail Jora, Alexandru Moroșanu, Paul Constantinescu – 2013-2018) and international competitions: 2nd prize at M ist fur Mozart Chamber Music Competition in Cluj, 2016, and 3rd prize at the Domenico Gabrielli Competition in Berlin, 2021. He played solo concerts with Alt-Hastedter Kammerorchester Bremen, Romanian Chamber Radio Orchestra, Moldovan National Youth Orchestra, Dinu Lipatti Philharmonic, Ion Dumitrescu Philharmonic. He also performed solo concerts in the great hall of the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest, in Riga, and in his hometown Chișinău.
