Santander - Paloma O'Shea Santander International Piano Competition

Paloma O’Shea Santander International Piano Competition originated in 1972 aiming to discover and support young talented pianists worldwide. In addition to cash prizes, laureates benefit from concert tours and recordings, contributing to launch their international career.

After 50 years and 20 competitions, the Paloma O'Shea Santander International Piano Competition has announced that the 2022 competition, which has been held in August and was won by Canadian young pianist Jaeden Izik-Dzurko (First Prize, Chamber Music Special Prize and Audience Award), will be the last one.
From now on, the Competition Founder and President, Mrs. Paloma O'Shea, will focus on other music projects she has also founded: the Reina Sofía School of Music and the International Institute of Chamber Music, both based in Madrid, as well as the Encounter of Music and Academy that takes place every month of July in Santander.
